Doug Dreger, RHU, REBC, joined the MacLean Agency’s Employee Benefits department in 2000. Doug has worked hand-in-hand with over 400 business owners, tailoring benefits packages to their specific needs and budgets, while helping to maintain their firm’s competitive position in the labor market. He also provides special guidance and assistance to companies regarding Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance.
Doug is certified through The National Association of Health Underwriters’ (NAHU) professional development course on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). He completed this course to receive the most up-to-date information on the key technical components of PPACA and is prepared to counsel clients on the required healthcare changes and new options for health plans. Doug also earned the Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist® designation by the National Healthcare Reform Magazine. Recipients of this certification must pass a comprehensive exam showing a thorough understanding of healthcare reform current trends, rules and regulations.
Doug received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manitoba. His other professional designations include Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC), which he has held since 2003. Doug is licensed to sell life, health, disability, and property and casualty insurance.
Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, Doug moved to the New Jersey in 1994 and became a dual citizen in 2012. He is married and a father of three. Doug currently resides in Woodbridge and enjoys biking and kayaking with his family on the weekends. He is also an active participant in the Platelet Donor program for the American Red Cross.
